Visalia Campus Programs:
SJVC Visalia offers a wide variety of business, medical, and technical programs. If you're interested in a business degree, our Administrative Health Care Management program is a great way to get involved in the medical field without becoming directly involved in patient care. Our Visalia campus also offers courses in Business Administration, which is similar to our Administrative Health Care Management program, but is not geared specifically towards health care. Additionally, SJVC Visalia offers Human Resource Administration courses, if you are interested in working in a company's HR department.
If you're interested in making a difference in your community you should consider our Criminal Justice program. This program prepares to work for the corrections side of the criminal justice system. If you're interested in becoming a police officer or a corrections officer you should contact us about our Criminal Justice: Corrections program.
SJVC's Visalia campus also has a wide variety of medical programs available. If you're interested in becoming a Medical Assistant or a Lab Technician, SJVC Visalia has a program in Clinical Medical Assisting. There is also Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene courses if you're interested in helping people improve their smile. If you're interested in entering the field of nursing, we have programs to train you as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or a Registered Nurse. Not only that, but our Visalia campus also offers courses to help you become a Physician's Assistant, or Respiratory Therapist. With so many medical programs available, SJVC Visalia is great if you're interested in getting involved in the growing medical field.
If you're interested in technical courses, SJVC Visalia has courses in Computer Support Technology, and Industrial Technology. The Computer Support Technology program involves lessons about computers, servers, operating systems, and networking skills. Industrial Technology on the other hand, involves courses teaching electrical theory, power transmission systems, and fluid power systems. If you're looking for technical training in California, SJVC Visalia is a great choice!
Visalia campus students partnered with the Career Services department to volunteer their time to the Kings/Tulare County 2nd Annual Project Homeless Connect event. Project Homeless Connect is a one-day event designed to provide housing, support, and hospitality extended to the homeless in our community. Students and faculty members from the CST, CAMA, DH, and CJ programs all pitched in with time and donations of items collected at the campus.
These are exciting times for the senior dental hygiene students at the Visalia Campus! Within one week they were invited to welcome Tooth Fairy – at Regal Cinemas 12, received news that their class had a 100% pass rate on the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination, and finished the week with a Pinning and Awards ceremony to celebrate their completion of their 16- month program. The Visalia Dental Hygiene students welcomed moviegoers at the opening of Tooth Fairy and provided information about oral health and dental education programs offered by SJVC.
